Stay tuned…..Sunday night I’ll announce a little giveaway we’re having. An audio edition of Fight Like a Man: A Post Apocalyptic Thriller will be up for grabs. Narrated by the excellent Kevin Peirce. If you’ve never tried audiblebooks this is a perfect opportunity. An audiobook regular like me? A good book to add to the library.

The repercussions of the NFL’s lack of holding players accountable continues to backfire on the league. Well – it’s not just the NFL leadership but many of the pathetic players.

During a recent discussion, the topic of fish antibiotics came up. While there are a lot of places fish antibiotics can be purchased online many are very expensive. Common antibiotics such as amoxicillin and ciprofloxacin should not cost an arm and a leg. I had a couple of suppliers that were very easy on the budget and unfortunately, they got shut down. I’ll see if I can find another.
Wouldn’t it suck to spend thousands of dollars and countless hours preparing for some type of collapse only to get sent to the grave because of a simple cut?

A few comments yesterday about the free ebooks being not so free. Yeah – it happens. Prices change all the time on Amazon and the free books are often free for 24-36 hours – and then go back to full price. It’s all in the timing. Just check and make sure of the price before pulling the lever.
Have a Kindle or an Amazon Fire tablet? You could literally go years without ever buying a book to read as there are thousands of free eBooks available. Don’t have a Kindle or Fire? Not a problem. You can download apps for most any cell phone or computer completely FREE! No excuses!

They’re only free if you have Kindle Unlimited. It’s monthly fee of 9.99 to be a member. If you’re already a Kindle Unlimited member you might not see the prompt to join and it just shows it as being free.
That is simply not true 3rdMan. They were free at the time of publishing to everyone.
HOST is still free.
Do you have Kindle Unlimited? Even the last one “Host” isn’t free. I don’t have Kindle Unlimited so it prompt me to purchase it to get the books you’ve listed for free.
Stand corrected it let me download “Host”!!
Thanks 3rdMan. I have run into the same problem as you and gave up long ago trying for those “free books” I will try again the next time an offer comes up. I have no interest in paying a subscription for that Kindle unlimited thing.
A lot of Rourke’s earlier posts were free for hours for non-Kindle folks. It looks like Amazon, who is going to take over the world, might have an algorithm that looks online to see if their free stuff has been posted and deletes it, like, 30 seconds later now. These were gone by the time I clicked on this post. Weird.
It happens Steve. As I mentioned there are some titles that are free sometimes only for 24 hours – then they go up. For some it’s for days.
HOST is still free.
I have the Kindle reader app on my tablet and my PC. I don’t normally shop on Amazon and only go there for the free books that Rourke lists in his blog postings. With that said, I have to find out if the Kindle app will “play nicely” with my Nook, which is the Barnes and Noble version of Amazon’s Kindle.
I swear StevefromMA is right on the timing of the books. Sometimes by the time I read the blurb about the book and I go back to click on it, it isn’t free.
Amazon tends to do that with most of their products. I shop through them regularly and always have active Wish Lists and Shopping Carts. If I really want something, I don’t add it to my Shopping Cart until I’m ready to buy it, because the prices will change (usually increasing) in as little as 15 minutes. There’s no consistency that I’ve found, because some will drop the next day, some will keep climbing by a few cents, and some will stay the new price for several weeks. I like the variety and convenience, but their pricing methods leave a lot to be desired.
Guys rourke is doing a great service looking for these down loads for us, HAVE YOU EVER PERSONAL SEARCHED FOR THOSE DOWNLOADS YOURSELF!! Try it it’s fucking daunting, they constantly change, it allows a certain number of free downloads then resumes normal sale prices, this is how amazon promotes its books, let’s not forget rourke works hard trying to find these so we don’t have to, and providedes it for free, I personally am very greatful for what he does and would not want him to stop because of someone complaining about them not clicking a link on time. I mean in the time he searches, and gets them posted they could change, it happens to me all the time, great thing is there relisted so there’s always another chance to get a completely FREE book WITHOUT complaining about it!
