Pulled up most everything out of the garden except eggplants, peppers, and okra. The second round of plantings did not pan out too well. The heat and intense sun really did a number on cucumber and squash plants.

In my area, there are signs on the highway warning of severe traffic on Monday – due to the eclipse. I live in an area that runs right along with the best visibility for the eclipse this many will be traveling through here. I’m thinking of taking Monday off from work so I don’t need to deal with the possible congestion.

As of this writing, Amazon has the KMASHI 10,000mAh Battery Power Bank on sale for only $11.99. This is a heck of a bargain and as a very happy user of two of them, I just ordered a third. Perfect to have in a glove box or purse to charge phones.

The Urban Homestead is one of my favorite books in my survival library.

While everyone is fighting over statues and debating why the Civil War was fought the National Debt continues to spiral out of control towards $20 trillion with no fix in sight.
How far we have fallen since 9/11 that America is divided over illegal immigration, history, and even responding to a country who threatens to nuke us.
There is true evil at work here. Think for yourself. Do your research. Soul search. Consider what’s right and wrong not just easy and what is popular.
Think like an American Patriot rather than a Sheeple.

Yesterday’s topic:
Ah-hah! Found it. It’s called Gab. The CEO was kicked from Twitter, because they called him a racist. You know…for telling the truth.

Indeed the pendulum seems to be swinging back the other way and gaining momentum. I personally am not allowing in either my personal or professional communications.
Do not stand back, do not step off and be situationally aware. If you have it and can .. then have it with you at all times.
Prepare like you mean it!

I have one of those battery packs and just love it, been slowly getting backup comms and digital storages devices put away for when we lose the grid. I was going to buy a CZ Scorpion Evo, ammo and a couple of revolvers but thinking higher power ham radio, antenna gear, solar kit and a backup laptop full of information is more important now. We’re in for some dark days ahead if things don’t change and all I see is the media pouring gasoline onto the dumpster fire via a fire hose. They are truly the evil ones in this whole mess, they could report facts but instead both sides are using the format for their own personal agendas. I shut off social media this afternoon because I just can’t stand it anymore, the hate is just mind blowing. Those who are joining the bandwagon to remove statues, monuments and even street names of historic figures just baffles me to the core. The level of ignorance in this country today saddens me because there is no recovery from it.
The decades of dumbing down in the schools has finally come to bloom.

yup… have you heard the ignorance on news interviews. A lack of basic vocabulary, enunciation, and syntax .. verbally .. let alone basic knowledge of US history I suppose there have always been and always will be idiots. The mean average cannot be the same and the intelligentsia by definition. In a world with 3 times as many people .. we would statistically be exposed to three times as many idiots. Maybe we see bad news concerning ignorant people because well .. bad decisions mean bad things happen. I do wish they would at least to talk to an even distribution of people.. Reminds me of a jeff Foxworthy routine where the woman they interview is in a night short only with hair up in curler and a cigarette bouncing in her mouth as she talk. “It was pandelierium! It uz tarnada. N i looked up and saw the trayler flyin over mine and all I could think ov wuz. Carlin still has my caserole dish. ” you can’ even us the english alphabet to make some of the verbalizations they use.. I guess that it is funny ..

Ditto jh. I’m slowly getting backups to put in my faraday can. In the back of my mind I’m thinking..okay do I get a third set of Item A or B? Also, coming to the realization I cannot get backups of everything. So what do I do when those everyday items go down? I’m leaning more towards secondary backups, but the third items are going to be colonial items. For example: Vintage hair clippers. Dirt cheap now. Keeping your hair short as to literally keep bugs out and keep some symbolism of normalcy in a grid down can go a long way.

Thoughts?
I hear you Capt. And maybe it is worth it .. Keep in mind that anything that marks you as well cared for or different makes you stand out. Gray is looking and acting like everyone else cosmetically or on the surface right ? Now .. Permethrin you can’t see.. but you do have to draw the line somewhere.. and likely everyone’s line and situation will be a little different.
Backups .. Yeah it can drive you a little crazy, because we can always come up with a situation where what you have is never enough. The further out you go with the scenario the less likely it will occur.. thankfully ..
I and I know you will.. will do everything we can with everything we have and where ever we get .. there we are. In my mind for each of us while we need to hustle and not sit back .. It’s not a sprint it is an endurance race.
Agreed, and very good point. I will keep that in mind for sure, but that’s just one example. It could go both ways depending on the situation to. Could stand out as in a good thing too. When presenting goods/barter, etc right? After it hits the fan and settles down a bit. Here, look at my hair, this is how good I can make you look for a trade of time and hair cutting?
Yeah, but like I said, before going on a rabbit trail. Hair cutters are just one thing/example. Here is another go to, what about a sewing AWL?

Thanks for the video Capt.Michaels. Good stuff to know and that is certainly not a skill I have.
Question for clarification….the small flashlights-they need put in the faraday can, right? What other little stuff might be overlooked?
Capt.Michaels…never have seen one of those clippers. Would be handy to have….
Concerning bugs, don’t forget the diatomaceous earth. One can purchase a 50? pound bag of food grade in a farm store for $20-25. The bag advertises using it,( in very small amounts,) in animal feed to keep the bugs from infesting it. Works well in bird seed also-no more little moths if you happen to get an infested bag. Since i have personally consumed it therapeutically, i would not have an issue adding it, (once again-very little is needed,) to threatened human food stores if necessary. (Lots of information about benifits/effects of diatomaceous earth out there to research on using it and the possible issues. i have never had problems and have worked with it for years to battle ants, fleas, earwigs and more since i try to avoid chemicals as much as possible. ) The biggest drawback is water, rain and moisture make re-application necessary. Many years ago while viewing the movie “The Hiding Place” i wondered what white powder was being measured onto the head of the concentration camp prisoners in the movie for lice…it would have been diatomaceouos earth i found. (Highly recommend the book on many levels.) Corrie ten Boom’ s writings are a favorite of mine as well as relevant. The German occupation of Holland and then the following unknowns of prison/concentration camp life she experienced made me think as a young adult. The seed of preparing was planted in my spirit then, even though years would pass before much growth would be realized….
…stop to rest but don’t quit….

Good thoughts
I like to think of myself as like minded with this group. A self reliant, self sufficient, capable kind of guy. Well, Monday after mowing my 88 year old’s lawn for him with his lawn tractor my back slipped out as I was bent down scraping the caked grass out of his mower deck. Let me tell you things can change in a blink of time. I’ve been pretty much a cripple since. A great reminder that your physical body and health are your top survival tools in your possession.
Capt.Turbo…you are SO right! This is a case which “two is one, one is none and YOU DON’T HAVE TWO ! ( as well as you eat, inflammation should not be much of an issue…castor oil packs/epsom salt soaks are an often overlooked help…) Who needs much of an excuse to soak in a hot, bubbling magnesium spa? i tend to prefer the benefits of a sauna…Oh, magnesium supplementation is also helpful if you don’t consume enough-once again, not likely with your loaded plant diet.)
Be well quickly…
re: nightshades
Our family has issues with peppers, potatoes, eggplant, and tomatoes… all members of the nightshade group of plants.
We get ‘typical allergy’ symptoms == itchy eyes, swollen sinuses, and an overdose of drainage plus achy joints. Although we took a few decades to identify the threat, we avoid nightshades, and feel better for it.
We also avoid poison oak and most close encounters with a chupacabra.

re: re-writing history
Newton’s third:
Every action creates an equal opposite reaction.
What is going on in our society and education system and turning people into lunatics reminds me of a John Carpenter movie, Ghost of Mars where a mist from a secured cave was released and turned the miners in a mining community into blood thirsty loonies.
John P…UhOh! Made me think of chem-trails!😳 But instead of blood thirsty loonies, it’s snowflake commie cowards!
LT, your probably right, feel it’s going to get real interesting in the near future.
Does anybody else get the feeling that if 9/11 happened today, the left half would cheer?
There is no doubt in my mind a portion – a small one – of both the Left and the Right – would cheer. Thankfully they are in the minority but their presence is growing.
