It appears that “bump fire” stocks and other devices that provide near full-auto performance may be banned with growing pressure from the public. Many pro-2nd Amendment Congressmen have signaled a willingness to consider gun control legislation as a result of the massacre in Las Vegas.

Even the NRA has suggested that they would support some of these devices being restricted.

While many of us scoff at the idea of ANY gun control – it is not surprising. Politicians operate not with what is right, wrong, or Constitutional. No – they operate and make decisions based on polls. The polls show the voting public wants SOMETHING done – even if it does nothing to stop gun violence.

Bump-fire stocks are now selling upwards of $500-$900 each. Insane. Trigger mechanisms that provide rapid shooting and can simulate full auto are selling like hotcakes.

Fear, the mainstream media, and politics will drive laws to be enacted that will only affect law-abiding citizens. The evil and the insane will continue to do what they do.

President Trump’s recent “calm before the storm” comment along with the Tweet’s below have many thinking a strike against NK is imminent.

Then again….he may just be referring to a planned visit to Taco Bell and what will follow after that.

The relaxing that many prepper’s did after a surprising Presidential election is wearing off.  I am hearing from many a “feeling” that has come over them and now kicking prep’s into high gear.

  • Tactics for The American Reformation Part 3: Basic AR-15 Duty Set Up

Tactics for The American Reformation Part 3: Basic AR-15 Duty Set Up

Let’s take a look at setting up a Duty AR-15. What is “Duty”? Anything from patrolling property, home defense, as well as battling brigands and other evildoers. Now – a good Duty rifle does not have to cost an arm, legs, and unmentionables. Especially with the current firearm market duty AR’s can be purchased with hundreds rather than thousands of dollars. Factory OEM AR’s from Ruger and Smith & Wesson can be found for under $500 and make good platforms which to have a Duty gun.

So – what are the main components of a Duty gun?

    • AR-15
    • Sling
    • Optic
    • Flashlight

With every aspect of all of the components listed above a great amount of personal preference is involved. What works for me may not work for you. What works for Operator A might be terrible for Operator B, etc. Consider a car lot. Every vehicle there will get you where you are going but there is a reason why so many models are manufactured. A general coverage of each component will be reviewed.

NOTE: Putting together a Duty gun is NOT complicated. This is also not a MISSION SPECIFIC firearm to serve a very certain tole with required abilities.

    AR-15’s:

Most any AR-15 of at least carbine(16″) length will fill the role. Popular models from Colt, Smith & Wesson, Ruger, Bushmaster, Windham, and others are available and each having models to fit any budget. M4 carbine variants work well and also 20″ full-sized rifles. There is no need for an AR that will shoot sub-MOA groups, or have a special lower with engraving. Reliabilitiy is of upmost concern and importance. The choice is up to the one with the money which to buy.

    Here are a couple examples:

AR-15, M4, duty gun, prepper, American Reformation, civil war, SHTF, preparedness, tactical

AR-15, M4, duty gun, prepper, American Reformation, civil war, SHTF, preparedness, tactical

I’ll note that models in 5.56mm are recommended for a few reasons including ammunition compatibility, ammo cost/weight, and magazine compatibility.

    Sling:

I run a single-point sling which I like very much. They are simple to use and fast. The main issue with the single point is transitioning from pistol to long gun. When the AR is dropped to switch to a pistol the gun seems to like heading directly to my – gerbils. Not the most comfortable feeling.

For an overview of sling options –

    A few mentioned slings:

    Haley Strategic D3 Sling

    Magpul MS4 Sling

    BFG Vickers Sling

    Frank Proctor WOTG Sling

    Viking Tactics Sling

    Ferro Concepts Slingster

    QD Mounts

    Optic:

Iron sights are a basic component as part of any Duty gun. A simple set of Magpul MBUS II folding sights will suffice.  Want something better and made of metal? Buy ’em.

Most Duty AR’s today will run a red dot optic such as the Bushnell TRS-25, Vortex StrikeFire, etc. Money generally equals quality. EOTech’s and Aimpoints offer increased reliabilities and are worth the extra funds needed for purchase. Red dots provide much faster target acquisition than iron sights and also help those of us with aging eyes. Although there are many red dot optics available it’s important on a Duty gun to have something reliable with a very good track record. Although I am currently testing a Sightmark CSR I would never recommend a company such as Sightmark due to their very questionable reputation.

weapons light, AR-15, EOTech, sights, Magpul, SHTF, prepper, preparedness

Magnified optics can prove very beneficial when targeting longer distances. They also can serve to assist in gathering information. For a Duty rifle, the optic should be something in the 1×4 – 1×6 range. The reason for not going to a higher starting magnification is the need to be able to use the optic in CQC. Turning the optic down to 1X will allow near red dot performance.

AR-15, Patriot rifle, Vortex, Vortex optics,

    Recommended Optics:

Magpul MBUS Gen II Flip Up Sights

    Bushnell TRS-25

    Vortex StrikeFire II

    Vortex Sparc II

    HOLOSUN Micro Red Dot

    EOTech 552

    Aimpoint Pro

    Trijicon MRO Red Dot

    Vortex Crossfire II 1-4X Scope

    Primary Arms 1-8X Scope

    Flashlight:

Illumination is an important component of a Duty rifle. The weapons platform may be used to illuminate a threat at night or possibly an intruder inside a building.  While there is a lot of controversy as to just how bright weapon mounted flashlights should be in the end that is up to the shooter – and your wallet. Understand that an 800 lumen light reflecting off white drywall can interrupt the ability for the holder of the gun to see – not just the “bad guy”. Companies such as SureFire and Streamlight have great reputations for making reliable weapon lights.

weapons light, duty gun, Polytach, AR-15, light,

Exactly how the light is mounted and run is up to the shooter.

M-Loc, light mount, weapons light, SureFire, Streamlight, AR-15

    Recommended Flashlights:

    Streamlight Polytac

    Streamlight TLR-1

    SureFire Mini Scout

    Streamlight ProTac

    Summary:

The Duty Rifle is an integral component to preparing for the American Reformation.  It is reliable, versatile, and accurate. Only with training can it be put to use to take advantage of its full capabilities.

  • Ignorance is Truly Bliss

    Ignorance is Truly Bliss

I am writing this sitting in a quaint coffee shop in the town which I live. The young and the old are flocking in…lining up to buy these tiny creations of cake, chocolate, fruit fillings and numerous things I cannot pronounce. The guy behind the counter is metro-sexual to the highest level and I would place him at the opposite end of the man spectrum compared to Si from Duck Dynasty.

Uncle SiYeah….I’m being a bit judgmental as I sit with my Diet Coke and chocolate “torte” in front of me.

I can tell you I feel about as comfortable in this environment as a Trump supporter at a Hillary rally. My son is upstairs getting tutored for Algebra. Figured you were wondering why I was in here.

I’m watching these people. One right after the other. Manicures, pedicures, and perms(not that there’s anything wrong with that). They talk….well….gossip really about who did what to whom and how many times. Each seems to be making a fashion statement and consider the importance of the brand of their purse(both men and women) well over the government’s monetary policy or the number of vets that committed suicide today.

Out front sits a Prius. Is it there? Could it be? Yes! A “Bernie” sticker rides on the back of this car. Fitting.

A guy just walked in wearing skinny jeans and I am fairly certain black fingernail polish. Hmmmm…..

    I need a beer.

Of course, they serve wine….no beer.

These people have no clue. Well, I’m generalizing of course but since I’m writing this I’m allowed. The Federal debt is approaching 20 trillion. They have no clue. Over 300,000 babies will be killed this year because it just isn’t convenient to take responsibility. They have no clue. There is a North Korean satellite flying overhead that MAY contain a nuclear weapon that could send us back to the stone age. They have no clue.  I am sitting here armed…..yet somehow this evil gun doesn’t kill them. They have no clue.

What the hell is a torte anyways? Seems like a piece of cake to me.

    Ignorance is bliss.

  • Trajectory of the .223/5.56 Round in a Carbine

Trajectory of the .223/5.56 Round in a Carbine

With the popularity of the AR platform and the .223/5.56 round I thought it would be a good idea to review the trajectory of the round and common sighting ranges. Being a high velocity round the trajectory is relatively flat within a few hundred yards – past 400 the drop-off is significant.

    eotech

There are several philosophies on sighting in the AR and what range in best. Here are a few examples:

50 Yard Zero – Sighting in the AR to be on the money at 50 yards is extremely popular and typically what I do. Why? Because at 100 yards I will be hitting about 1.5″ inches high and at 200-225 I will be back on the money. This provides excellent accuracy from 0 out to past 250 yards with little if any compensation especially if we are talking about shooting man sized targets.

This is by far the most popular method used for sighting in an AR.

100 Yard Zero – Not a bad option at all. With a zero of 100 yards the .223/5.56 round will impact approx 3/4″ low at 50 yards and around 2.25″ low at 200 yards.

25 Yard Zero – I don’t care at all for sighting in at 25 yards. When zeroed at 25 yards the round will also be zeroed at 300 yards. This strategy does not provide much of an advantage unless longer range shooting is planned. The problem is between 25 and 300 yards where either the rear sight has to be adjusted for elevation while shooting or english used.

All these numbers are relative and depend on specific barrel lengths, loads, and barrel rifling.

I recommend the 50 yard zero.

Thank you for the recent article sharing on social media. As I try to expand the presence of 1776PatriotUSA.com and the multitude of messages and beliefs I promote I certainly cannot do it alone. • What makes you feel alive?

    What makes you feel alive?

As I have mentioned previously 1776PatriotUSA.com is more than just current events, preparedness and all things SHTF. As individuals with limited existence on this planet and preppers who wish to stick around as long as possible wouldn’t it be great to truly enjoy life? I mean – life is full of up and downs but how many of us travel through life with blinders on and not seeing that which will really make us feel alive?

At 47 I would never proclaim to have all the answers however I will share a bit of wisdom I have managed to acquire along the way.

    Here we go…..

GET OUTSIDE. For many of us today’s modern world filled with every gadget imaginable and where most any bit of information is at your fingertips it is easy to miss the beautiful environment around us. Most anywhere in this country, a lake, pond, hiking trails, vineyard, apple orchard, or state park is within miles. Sometimes getting outside and enjoying nature will create a state of relaxation unlike most anything else. It’s also all in high-definition without the expensive electronics.

EXERCISE. Get out there and get the heart pumping and the sweat pouring. People that live sedentary lifestyles often miss out that feeling of being alive. They rarely feel their heart pumping blood through their veins and the high from surging adrenaline.

WATCH A SCARY MOVIE. Seriously. Pop some popcorn, shut the lights out and turn on Paranormal Activities. If you get into the movie you WILL feel alive. Just do me a favor – keep the 1911 filled with 185 grain jacketed hollow points in the safe. You don’t want to have to explain why there are bullet holes in your TV.

TAKE A COLD SHOWER. Want to feel alive? Jump in the shower with the water ice cold. Brrrrrrr……

GET A DOG. I was a cat guy for way too long. Cat’s are cool but dogs are best friends. Yeah – get a dog – or twelve.

HELP A STRANGER. I had a situation that made me feel extremely emotional – and very much alive. I didn’t set out to do this but it just kind of happened. I was in a Cracker Barrel with a few friends of mine. I noticed a large multi-family table with a young bald girl(cancer treatments) sitting there with her mother. This was right next to Carowinds – a giant theme park. I figured they had brought the girl there trying to get HER to feel ALIVE. I felt horrible. What did I have to stress about compared to this family who was facing the loss of their daughter? How about this young girl who likely wondered how much time she had left?

I went and saw the manager and told him I wanted to pay the families bill. He asked if it was OK to tell them and I said no. I wasn’t doing it for recognition. I went back to my seat with my friends. A few minutes later the manager went over and I could tell he was telling the mother their bill was taken care of. She started crying.

I felt horrible at the time but also very much alive. I still think of that little girl every so often.

DO WHAT YOU TRULY ENJOY. This may sound like an easy one but far too often we make excuses why we do not do the things we want to. Sometimes money is the cause but then $6 bucks a pop are blown at Starbucks on coffee. Sometimes it is a fear of embarrassment that stops you from doing what you truly enjoy. Unfortunately, it may be an unsupportive spouse as well. Hey – if you want to go ballroom dancing or do stand-up comedy at the local club the only one stopping you is you.

These are but a few suggestions and just like we all have favorite foods and cars what makes us feel alive is very unique to each of us. Do I practice what I preach? Not nearly enough.

So – what makes me feel alive? Here are a few:

    • firearm training
    • off-roading on an ATV
    • fishing
    • hunting
    • going to church
    • sparring
    • working out
    • jamming to country music while driving down the road
    • going to the movies
    • showing my kids just how brilliant I am

Ok, how about you? What makes you feel alive?

Recently saw a rant on Facebook by a national preparedness magazine writer against the LifeStraw. Basically, his issue was he sent an email to the company requesting information on whether or not the LifeStraw would be a good tool to use in Florida and Houston where chemicals are found in the water. Due to their not emailing him back within a week or so he said he could no longer recommend the LifeStraw filter.

    That is a mistake.

First – the LifeStraw does not remove chemicals from water. That is not its intended purpose. It is right on their website. In fact, the vast majority of water filters that we have access to do not remove chemicals. That includes the Sawyer. Now – step it up a level to a Berkey and chemical removal – or significant reduction – occurs.

  • The Sheepdog Concept

    The Sheepdog Concept

January 13th, 1982: Air Florida Flight 90 crashed into the Potomac River. Only six of the 74 passengers survived the crash and ended up in the icy water. While a helicopter was able to come in and snatch four of the 6 passengers one disappeared under the water while another – Priscilla Tirado – helplessly struggled in the 33-degree water.  Unable to hold on to the rope lowered by the helicopter she began to drown. A bystander who witnessed the crash while he was walking home could not take it any longer. He could not stand there and watch this woman drown. He removed his coat and jumped in the water. He swam over to her as she laid just under the water, grabbed her – and pulled her to the bank.

    He saved her life.

This is the epitome of the Sheepdog.

Sheepdog, Grossman, Patriot, quote, protect, prepper, preparedness, SHTF

Not everyone can jump into action and put themselves into harm’s way. Not everyone can be a Sheepdog. Can it be learned or developed? Probably. People are just wired in different ways.

I have had several situations where things were happening nearby and I could not just sit back and not get involved. Sometimes it was preventing someone from getting hurt. Sometimes it was standing up for someone. Sometimes it was helping someone who was already hurt. Risk evaluation has to be done but sometimes there just isn’t any time.

Saturday evening I was walking through uptown Charlotte, NC with a friend. Walking down the sidewalk along the busy street I came towards a metal bench. I wasn’t looking at it rather just walking with my friend talking. In an instant, I saw a child run around from the front of the bench to the back of it and then straight towards the busy car filled street. I didn’t think about it I just moved. I ran and grabbed the kid – about 2 years old – just inches from the street. Did I save the kids life? I don’t know. The father noticed the kid as well and put his hand out in front of the child right at the same time I got to him.

My heart was pounding in my chest. My buddy said he didn’t see anything and just saw me take off. Some big, muscular guy said his heart was racing because he thought the kid was going to get hit. I almost said it but didn’t – “Why did you just stand there?”

The answer to that question is not everyone reacts the same nor has the capability to react the same.

As for me – I will continue to mind my own business until it’s time NOT to mind my own business.

    JR.

Hope everyone is having a good week. As stated a few times last week I have been posting some past articles so I could work on a few projects. This may extend into next week. The hope is by taking this time it will mean better things here on 1776 as well as other Internet sites and platforms I manage. Maybe as a side benefit some past content that may have been missed will be seen by many.

Reminder = I have opened the FREE DOWNLOAD section with numerous Books, Manuals, and Guides. Let me know what you think. More planned but it will take time.

    ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊

At times I find myself getting down with all the political rhetoric and flat-out corruption in government at all levels. I was recently reminded listening to an interview that all is not bleak. While the MSM sides with violent protestors, anti-Patriotic football players, socialist governments, and most anything this country was founded upon, take a step back and look at what these people are doing.

    It’s laughable.

There is actually a group of people arguing that men should be allowed to use the women’s restroom – and vice versa.

The news media freaks out on a regular basis over a “Tweet” from President Trump – and almost ignores North Korea firing a missile over Japan. THEY FIRED A MISSILE OVER JAPAN!!!

The media is “understanding” and “agreeable” when un-Patriotic NFL players refuse to stand for the Pledge of Allegiance but they are TRIGGERED when Trump suggests it is a shameful act.

The media ignore Russian ties and numerous lies from Hillary Clinton – and focus on “rumors” when it comes to a Republican.

    Seriously? Yes.

It’s laughable. As hard as they try maybe – just maybe – we are winning. Just look at the NFL ratings.

So – make fun of them. Point out these insane acts and point out the illogical and absurd. We need as many on our side as possible and the battle is just beginning.

  • Dirt Cheap Thermal…..and it works!!!

    Dirt Cheap Thermal…..and it works!!!

Thermal optics and imaging devices have long been sought after but priced out of reach for most preppers. I make no claims to have any expertise in thermal nor any other kind of night vision. Night vision – including thermal – provides the ability to at least monitor what exists in the darkness while others can only listen and guess.  This is incredibility important and cannot be overstated. Knowing what goes “bump” in the night provides a tremendous benefit. In particular, thermal can be very expensive and for most of us not more than a dream.

    Until now.

    Inexpensive Thermal for Prepper’s

Enter the Seek Thermal XR. The Seek XR is a very small, highly portable device that attaches to Apple and Android compatible devices. Running between $240 and $275 it is very affordable(maybe not “dirt cheap”). My particular model uses a Lightning adapter allowing it to be connected to my iPhone 6S.

Once the camera is connected to the phone an App allows access to viewing. There are a variety of modes – called filters – that can be used depending on the environment and your personal preference.  I’m not going to go through all the specifics of the software, however, there are a couple critical things to know:

First – Pictures and video can be taken within the App to allow for viewing later. This is excellent for surveillance record keeping and being able to actually show someone what has been seen rather than just describe it.

Second – This device is not mountable to a firearm. Well – it is possible however mounting to a firearm is not its intended purpose.

To show some of the thermal capabilities a few video clips and still images follow:

ABOVE: Approx 30 yards away an intruder peeks around a shed and then moves to a tree for cover.

    line

ABOVE: Approx. 30 yards away an intruder walks behind the fence along the property perimeter. There is a 1.5″ inch gap between the 6″ boards in the fence.

    line

ABOVE: An individual walks around the side of a house approx. 100 yards away.

    line

ABOVE: Still image with a maximum distance of approx 175 yards.

    line

ABOVE: Approx 80 yards away to the wood line.

    line

    Benefits of Thermal for Preppers:

Consider the incredible benefits of thermal. Hunting wild game could be made much more successful. Not only could hunting commence at night but even during the day, thermal could assist greatly in finding animals hidden in deep brush.

The biggest benefit of thermal usage is identifying potential threats in the dark of night. Expanding the number of surveillance hours per day from around 12-16 to a full 24 hours is huge.

Search and rescue is another area that the Seek XR Thermal would provide benefits, Imagine a lost dog – or kid – somewhere out in the woods. Thermal would provide great benefits over a flashlight beam.

    The Bad:

At this price point, there is not a lot that is truly negative about the Seek XR. There are a few points to keep in mind th0ugh…..

    • Image and video resolution are not the greatest. This affects the ability to see details. You can tell a man is a man even at a few hundred yards – if moving. Animals can be identified as animals, however, knowing their specific species depends on how far away they are and their actions. I’ve seen rabbits hopping around at 40-50 yards however if they were still I would have just known there was an animal there.
    • The Seek XR Thermal is a quality item, however, it does not feel like the most durable piece of equipment. Care needs to be taken not to drop it or drop it in water.
    • When connected to a cell phone the screen emits quite a bit of light when used in total darkness. This obviously would be an issue when trying to detect potential intruders. One possible solution is darkening the screen however this may limit the ability to see details. Making some type of shade to hide the emitted light would be helpful. The most plausible solution is using a remote cable so that the Seek XR can be placed outside or a building while the cell phone connected to it is inside. I’ve not tried this yet, however, the cables are sold.

    Let’s Wrap It Up

The Seek XR Thermal has limitations – but it’s $250! I have demonstrated this device to several prepper friends and they were blown away – especially using the WHITE filter – the level of detail observed. It is a game changer for those who cannot afford more expensive and capable thermal.

    Well worth the price.

Chris Costa on Why We Train

Prior to founding Costa Ludus in 2011, Chris Costa spent 4 years as the President of Magpul Dynamics. Before founding Magpul Dynamics, Costa spent 7 years in the private sector at Applied Marine Technologies Inc. (AMTI) on assignment with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Risk Management Division (RMD).

Also known as “The Beard” – Costa tells it like it is and provides logic and common sense to his opinions.

In the following video, he and those he trains provides thoughts on “Why We Train.”

I train for multiple reasons and it isn’t always as noble as “To protect my family”.  I enjoy it. I love getting out from the narrow walls of a typical shooting lane and moving – running – from cover to cover engaging targets. Increasing a wide range of abilities and skills to a level superior to I had before. It’s rewarding. It’s fun.

The end result of all that fun is the ability to protect me, my family – and my country.

  • Retreat Arrival Checklist

    Retreat Arrival Checklist

I’ve been asked several times about when something happens and people first arrive at a retreat location. Questions usually come up regarding who does what and when. Granted situation details will dictate quite a bit but having some form of checklist will help remember things, decrease stress, and allow people to use their brains for thinking.

Here is one example that is broken up into days for the first week or so.

Day 1 Checklist – first 24 hours upon arrival:

    • Injuries? Check and treat.
    • Gather facts from all group members
      • What has been seen and where?
      • What has been heard? Source?
      • Make sure everyone is informed and educated on all information.
      • Notes should be taken to reference later rather than relying on memory.
    • Determine potential threats if any? If so set up security watch right away.
    • Get someone on commo to gain intelligence/information. This includes internet/radio/TV/social media/Ham/CB
    • Inventory all supplies brought to retreat by members to add to inventory lists
    • How much combined cash/silver/gold is on hand?
    • If safe – formulate a supply run(s) to purchase additional supplies while the ability still exists(see “Supply Run Checklist” – coming soon)
    • Get an inventory of all fuel.
      • How much is in each vehicle in gallons?
      • How much is currently stored?
      • Is it safe to go out for more? If so go get some. Get back quickly.
      • How much propane?
      • How much charcoal?
    • If electricity is still on get all rechargeable batteries into a charger.
    • Water running? If so fill all available containers.
    • Set up sleeping arrangements at a minimum on a temporary basis.
    • Cook a large, filling dinner – important for moral

    Day 2-3 Checklist:

    • House rules – all determined by property owner
    • Get pet’s situated that were brought to the retreat
    • Everyone has communication methods on their body if they venture away from retreat more than “normal voice distance”
    • Set up Security/Patrol schedules
    • Get solar systems set up and running
    • Set up potable water dispenser
    • Based on current condition install light and sound discipline
    • Set up water filtration methods
    • Set up alternative bathroom facilities
    • Set up bathroom/sanitation schedule
    • Camouflage driveway entrance
    • Set up medical station for self-treatment of minor cuts, burns, and scrapes
    • Determine any specific projects that need attention and seek volunteers/assign duties
    • Reach out to family and friends  – OPSEC!!!!

    Day 3-7 Checklist:

    • Determine outward patrol location and schedule
    • Set up LPOP areas
    • Set up defensive position and assign members to areas
    • Review communication protocols between members in defensive situations
    • Determine procedure for dealing with strangers/approaching people
    • Gather and set up rain gear/clothing
    • Doublecheck food inventory to determine how many days available for group

    Any other suggestions? Thoughts?

The choices for free ebooks that I haven’t posted before is becoming rather slim. Just an FYI.

    ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊

The kneeling of NFL players during the NFL is not a matter of free speech. It is a matter of disrespect and a sign of the times.

Listen to the National Anthem. Consider the great, incredible things this country has done around the world and here at home. Oh – and when I say “this country” I am referring to the people of this country – ALL THE PEOPLE. Yes, this includes the military, leaders, and common citizens that built the greatest country in the world.

Remember – just because you have the ability to kneel – doesn’t mean you should. Just remember that because you have the right to express yourself – doesn’t mean the rest of the country can’t call you an asshole because of it.

    ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊

REMINDER: I have a series of “Blasts From The Past” scheduled this week as I have some things taking up my time. My regular “From the Desk of…” will likely only be published a couple times.

    ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊

OK – I have been talking about adding a “Survival & Preparedness Download” section and I have a sampling now available. Look at the top of the screen and find the “DOWNLOADS” section within the navigation menu. Hover your cursor over and a drop-down menu will appear. Currently “Books, Guides, and Manuals” is available. Click on that one. Also under there is a “Wallpaper” page where I’ve made a few computer wallpapers.

This is just a small sampling of the content I have available. Over the next several weeks more downloadable content will be linked to and I’ll let everyone know.

  • The Panhandle Rancher’s Long Range Travel Kit

The Panhandle Rancher’s Long Range Travel Kit

Readers might be interested in the amount of equipment the wife and I travel with. Depending on how far/where we travel, the M4/M1A is traded out so that we just travel with one long rifle. My EDC includes a 1911 platform, Surefire Chroma, Emerson folder, 4″fixed blade, fire materials, and compass. I’ve laminated the attached list and stored in the safe so that if someone steals the truck, I at least have a list of serial numbers for law enforcement and a list of overall contents for my claim to USAA.
When leaving the country, we always add a case of bottled water and a dozen cans or so of our favorite soups and the like against the off chance of getting stranded somewhere. Our backpacks, of course, contain a number of freeze-dried foods and re-packaged lifesavers (a comfort food).
The metal box is a top end commercial box with two sets of chains bolted to the inside of the lid and sides so that the lid can be further secured apart from the factory lock with two internal padlocks through the chains. The big risk with any truck mounted metal box is someone dropping a chain around the box and yanking it from the bed using their vehicle and then making off with the whole box. My metal box was ordered to fit and is snug against the sides of the bed. The top is also 2″ below the bedsides, again making it hard for the yank it off artist. Of course, I used carriage bolts and large washers so there is no bolt head under the truck bed for a wrench.
    Hope this helps someone.

  • The “Patriot” Rifle AR Build

    The “Patriot” Rifle AR Build

My latest AR is the result of the “Katrina” rifle concept. Katrina rifle you ask? The term came about after Hurricane Katrina devasted the Gulf and left many residents in a state of WROL(Without Rule of Law). Widespread looting, lawlessness, and general civil unrest provide a very dangerous environment.  Add to this the absence of law enforcement the need for a Katrina rifle is evident. This single weapon – like in New Orleans – may be used at 25 yards or 250 yards. Yeah – there are a lot of AR’s and other firearms that will fit the bill. A firearm similar to this should be part of every preparedness system. This is merely one example.

    Components List:

    80% AR low from 80-Lower.com ($60)

Anderson Lower Parts Kit – LINK ($50)

    Magpul AR grip ($20)

Strike Industries Charging Handle w/Extended Latch ($40)

PSA Full Auto Bolt Premium Carrier Group – LINK ($70 – SALE)

    Standard M4 Stock/Buffer Tube

16″ Mid State Firearms Specter .223 Wylde AR Upper w/12″ Gen3 Slim Rail – LINK ($279)

Vortex Crossfire II 1-4X24mm Rifle Scope w/Mount – LINK ($210)

TruGlo Micro Laser – LINK ($70)

2-Point Sling – still yet to purchase

Lower: The 80% lower started this project. No particular reason I used an 80% other than it was sitting on my shelf. The fact that there is zero traceable paperwork connected to it is just the icing on the cake. While many may fear to attempt an 80% build jigs and instructions provide an avenue for the manufacture of the lower with minimal equipment.

Mine came from 80-Lower.com and the finish is fantastic and I have zero fit/function issues.

Upper: The 16″ Mid State Firearms Specter .223 Wylde upper is amazing. The slim configuration along with available picaninny attachment rails offer tremendous comfort as well as real estate for attachment of accessories. This is my second Mid State Firearms upper and couldn’t be happier. Free float barrel and a 1:8″ twist rate provide a high level of accuracy with a variety of bullet weights. I shoot 55-grain almost always with 62-grain making an appearance periodically. Accuracy? I readily admit that I am not the best shot and every gun I own will shoot better than me. So far 3 shot groups at 100 yards under 2″ is repeatable with XM193 ammunition. I plan to work with some premium rounds and reduce to 1″ or under.

Charging Handle: Historically a standard AR charging handle has always worked fine for me. With this project, I decided to look and see what was available for a little more than the cost of a standard one. Once I saw the Strike Industries I bit. While a normal charging handle still works fine on some of my other guns the Strike Industries definitely provides a secure grip especially in lieu of the Vortex optic. A standard handle would be more difficult to reach. For an extra $10 or so it was so worth it.

Magpul Grip: I have several AR’s with Magpul MOE grip or a slight variant of it. It simply works and provides not only comfort but a more secure grip than an A2 grip.

Stock: I had a standard M4 stock with buffer tube sitting on the shelf so I used it. Nothing special and it works just fine. I have considered moving on to the Magpul but so far just cannot justify the cost.

Flash Hider: The Mid State upper came with the Specter Flash Hider. I had wanted a flash hider that was more “tactical” than a standard A2 cage. Hopefully “poking” someone is not in the future for the Patriot but if the need arises I like the sharper edges of the Specter. Night time shooting? It’s on par with a standard A2 flash hider which by the way is way better than many aftermarket models costing a lot more.

Optic: The Vortex Crossfire II 1-4X24mm Rifle Scope w/Mount is precisely the kind of optic I was looking for. When set at 1X it is very close to true 1X allowing operation with both eyes open similar to a red dot. For CQC this is great. For longer ranges the power can be twisted up to 4X bringing things closer for more precise shooting. The Vortex is very clear.

    Summary:

I’m in the process of selecting a sling. I want something simple and a 2-point rather than my normal single point.  I mounted a TruGlo Micro Laser for use at night as being able to see black crosshairs would be problematic at best. Not a huge fan of throwing a bunch of attachments on a gun but the Micro Laser is tiny and super lightweight. I’ve run into a roadblock as about 10 minutes after mounting and during the sight-in process it stopped working. Strange. I am sending it back for replacement and am confident I’ll have a new one mounted soon.

A flashlight has yet to be added though I am considering an Inforce 200-lumen model. We’ll see.

I have the standard trigger in the lower that came with the lower parts kit. It feels very good however an upgrade is likely in the near future. I’ve been using D&H aluminum magazines as well as PMAG’s – no issues.

Reliability has been 100%. At a little over $800 invested I am loving the “Patriot” AR and glad it is part of my battery.

Oh – the small American flag perfectly located on the right side of the lower? Amazon.

Congress continues to show that the vast majority of them are crooked. The latest effort with dealing with ObamaCare is nothing more than a joke. Seriously. A group of politicians who voted to repeal ObamaCare when they knew it wouldn’t actually happen can’t do the same thing when they know it could. Pathetic.

NFL & Patriotism: While I enjoy watching some NFL football I haven’t last season nor this season. Why? The NFL supporting various players taking a knee during the National Anthem. I cannot support that.

Health, Fitness, & Finances: Seems like everything needs to be a priority in the Rourke household these days. The wife had a health scare a couple weeks ago where we thought she had a blood clot. I was scared she was going to die. The ER ruled that out and a general physician visit has lead her to see a cardiologist for a stress test. That visit is next week. The wife and I discussed the need to get in better shape and improve our health. Life is so busy. We’ve been talking about finances and the need to get out of debt. The constant debt slavery – and that is what it is – that most of us experience is so draining. Financial freedom is something we seek. It will be extremely difficult. We are basing our efforts on Dave Ramsey’s The Total Money Makeover.

Hurricane Maria Update: It appears that Maria will head out into the Atlantic. This is excellent news, however, anything could happen. It is days away from affecting the United States and if it should take a westerly track change it could present a very big problem.

    ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊

The sanctions just imposed on North Korea to eliminate their nuclear efforts might – and that is a big MIGHT – be effective. Interesting in that the United States has basically told the rest of the world if you wish to do business with the United States – do not do any business with North Korea. The already crippled economy of North Korea will now be decimated. Unfortunately, it is the North Korean people who will suffer the most.  Hopefully, someone in the government will rise up and take Kim out.

Ruger makes some great guns. Reliability has always come to mind when I think, “Ruger”. Ergonomics? Not so much. Their P85/P95 line of pistols just never really felt right in my hands. Your mileage may vary.

For whatever reason I’ve been wanting the old Ruger P85. Several variants exist and reportedly can be purchased online for around $250. A P90 or P345 in 45ACp is another I would like to throw in the safe – and blast away with once in a while. Maybe someday. Finances are tough right now.

I was recently asked why I do not support transgenders in the military.

I do not believe that transgenders are normal and it is a sign of a mental disorder.  These people need help. A large percentage of transgenders are suicidal or at a minimum unbalanced.  This is not a logical thing for combat duty. Far too often in today’s “modern” politically correct society that which is not normal nor healthy – or right – is being made normal, healthy, and right due to the power of special interest groups. Political correctness is un-American.

I do not support any normalization of that which is not normal. Period.

More media bias exposed. CNN reported on the funny video that Trump retweeted where someone edited in the President hitting a golf ball and then the camera swings and shows it hitting Hillary as she is boarding a plane. While most normal people can laugh at such an attempt at comedy CNN freaked out over it.

At this same time, they ignored a Tweet by pro-Antifa college professor who said he enjoyed teaching “future dead cops”.

#fakenews, fake news, CNN, politics, Antifa,

Hurricane Maria Update: Maria is getting ready to slam Puerto Rico and continue towards a general direction of the East Coast of the United States. Most of the tracking shows Hurricane Maria turning sharply north. It is still a long ways out and much could change. If anywhere within the range of this storm keep an eye on it.

I watched some of Trump’s speech at the UN. Wow. Compare this to the wishy-washy pathetic efforts of his predecessor it was something else.

    ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊

Saw a report that Hillary Clinton might be funneling money to Antifa. She is not going to fund organizations such as Antifa. Regardless of the MSM Left-leaning agenda if proof came out it would be devastating not only to the Clinton’s but to the Democratic party. Look – the Democrat’s want nothing more than the Clinton’s to crawl away and be silent. They need fresh blood to motivate the masses and by 2020 they will likely have it.

Hurricane Maria Update: Tracking by midday Monday is showing the storm taking a northern turn potential heading towards the Carolina coast – or possibly out to sea or even heading towards New England. At this point, it is too early to tell.

    Oh….Maria is now a Catagory 5 hurricane.

Next Week….maybe: I may be publishing a few “Blast’s From the Past” next week as I have some serious scheduling conflicts going on. With that said I’ll pick some of my favorite posts since 1776 started and republish. The daily “From the Desk of…” may only publish a couple times.

    ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊

Evacuation: There is a saying that goes something like this – “Bugging out without a plan means you’re a refugee.” Think about that for awhile. Consider the reason for evacuation – which is what bugging out is. I guess evacuation isn’t “prepper” enough so we call it “bugging out”.

Have a plan. You just never know. Maybe it is to Uncle John’s house

    ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊

I just discovered one of my uncles died back in 2010. Having been disconnected with parts of the family I never received the news.

Horse Shoe ~ John Tweedie, 85, died Friday, October 22, 2010 at his residence in Horseshoe, NC.

John “Jack” was born in Boston, MA on November 15, 1925 and was the son of the late John Malden Tweedie and Helen Jane Sawyer Tweedie. He was husband of 63 years to the late Madeline Wilkins who was his childhood sweetheart.

Mr. Tweedie was a Navy Radarman, second class entering at the age of 17 in January 11 of 1943 until February 17, 1946. He received the Purple Heart Medal, the WWII Victory Medal, the American Theater Medal, the European/African Theater Medal-3 stars, the Asiatic/Pacific Theatre Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He served on the DE 426 Landsdale in Oran, Algiers. His ship was torpedoed by heavy German fighter action and was sunk. Most of the crew escaped. Jack was the last survivor off. All floated in oil-soaked water for four hours. Jack had given up his life preserver to another shipmate who was a poor swimmer. After their rescue, he was transferred to the Pacific, serving on the USS Mayo which was present during the signing of the Japan surrender ceremony.

I remember hearing stories of the sinking of his ship and being in the water. Concerns about sharks were mentioned and filled my imagination as a child. He – among several other adult men in my family – provided me fine examples to look up to.

Prepping on a Budget – and wasting money.   How many prepper’s out there do not own the firearm they want. AR? AK? Glock? CZ? How many prepper’s out there wish they had a plate carrier and body armor but just can’t spend the cash?

How many prepper’s go out to lunch every day dropping $10-$12, or swing by Starbucks and spend $8 on “coffee”? Budgeting for survival is all about priorities.

One of my favorite Apocalyptic movies is Maximum Overdrive. If not familiar it is about a passing comet has an effect on all mechanical entities in that they come alive. Of course, they go after all humans. While there are some serious problems with the science behind the story it is for entertainment. Ignore the plausibility and just enjoy it.

Finances & The Future: While we often talk about some apocalyptic scenario occurring the reality is life as we know it now may just continue on for years – decades even. The Wifey and I are looking at enrolling in a Financial Peace University class. I’m very familiar with the concept. It will be tough but in the end, I know it is what is needed.

Terrorism: Another pathetic and cowardly terrorist attack occurred in Britain. Feel better? Nope. Regardless of how many descriptive words are used to put down and call the terrorist names they are injuring and killing people. The final result is all that matters. Freedom-loving governments need to take control of this situation and get rid of these “people”.

A local gun shop asked me about a partnership to bring preparedness supplies and information to their customer. The place is very big and similar to a small Bass Pro Shop. While this may seem like a great opportunity – I’m extremely busy. Not to be selfish but if I don’t get something out of it there are other things I could do with my time. Putting on group seminars and bringing in business will certainly benefit them. I may work up a proposal and see if they are interested. Barter would be acceptable.

This seems to be getting fairly routine: North Korea fires another missile and makes threats. This launch had another missile fly over Japan with a quick reaction from the Japanese government. I can only imagine the reaction should an impact – even without any detonation – occur on Japanese soil.

With the rampant water shortages in Texas and Florida simple tools like the Water Bob would be HUGE to have. A couple tubs in the house could result in storage 200 gallons or so of water.

Continuing to collect parts to build my Commo Can. Basically, a 2-meter ham radio, power supply, antenna, etc all contained in a 50-cal ammo can. Hope to complete in a couple weeks.

    Similiar to this……

  • First Hand Report: Conditions In Florida After Hurricane Irma

First Hand Report: Conditions In Florida After Hurricane Irma

A few of us on the 1776 Telegram Group have been in communication with frequent 1776-commenter “Clark”. Located in the heart of destruction in Florida he is living his own personal SHTF. Make no mistake about it those of us that think about what a SHTF situation would be like don’t know the half of it. While you can prepare and consider numerous scenario’s the unexpected could prove disastrous. Hearing the events and conditions in Florida have me rethinking my preps. The need to carry out an actual scenario to try to duplicate the conditions expected must be done. Even then – it is only a practice and not the real thing.

What follows is a first-hand account and description from Clark as he and his neighbors deal with horrible conditions:

Still no power here in Florida, no sewage sub pumps are running due to lack of power or sewage systems are now backing up through manholes everywhere they’re coming up in homes. I’ve said it before I’ll say it again without power unless you’ve made the right preps sewage will back up and enter your home from every drain, think about this if your plan is to bug in!

Mid to low 90’s 100% humidity, dew point around 70, had 9 people die in the nursing home yesterday heat exhaustion! People are being rushed to hospitals in record numbers from dehydration! I’ve been working 20 hour days helping friends, family, neighbors, and even strangers, have used 65 out of my 80 gallons of gas reserve on generator and gas for the jeep. Really kicking myself in the ass for not having more solar in place, lots of sun, no way to collect, (always see it get cheaper and better as I wait to buy) should have had a few panels…. had 10 cases of MRE’s down to 4.5 been giving them out, many have no way to cook, still no help from FEMA, think they’re supposed to be setting up operations in my area today… only had 50 gallons of water, with all the hard work and giving water out I’m down to 20, I must be drinking 2 gallons a day, sun block is running low as well, I’m in the sun all day cutting trees, tapping roofs, and helping people clean up. I’m really learning a lot about where my preps are weak. Getting concerned about all the sewage, a lot of bugs will be carrying diseases. A lot of standing water here and found it’s rancid with disease, bugging out would have been much smarter! But even working days I couldn’t get my supplies together to get out, my pick up is in the shop, the Jeep couldn’t haul all supplies needed. My reaction bug out time with supplies will be the top of my list of fixing!

Charlie asks if he has or needs water filters:

I have every water filter they make I think Charlie, I even have military water treatment equipment, but when your water supply has been polluted by feces like in my video that’s no longer an option, at least it’s to be avoided as long as possible! Think about this guys, the grid goes down EVERY TOWN OR CITY WILL HAVE THIS HAPPENING, MEANING ALL WATER SUPPLIES WILL BE CONTAMINATED… still think you can bug in???? If you’re on your own land and have septic your in a much better place than most of us, BUT, rats will be in this sewage, mosquitoes, bugs will be carrying diseases! Remember the Black Plague, that video I just posted that’s how the Black Plague started…

Here is the video mentioned by Clark. Understand the profanity, please. Consider the situation Clark and his community is in….

Rourke: Clark – I can only imagine how people are reacting. In your area how are people handling the loss of power, water, sanitation – normalcy? You have prepared and considered situations where things could go bad. For the average person, the shock must be greater.

    Clark responds….

My partner’s wife is freaking out. She is used to a middle classed life. Most people are devastated. There are lots of looters, but many people coming out to help one another, (those who have some comforts are the most eager to help I think) but every now and then you see someone that has lost it all trying to help others, rare, but I’m seeing it. All the stores – Walmart, Lowes, Home Depot, AutoZone, all have two to three guys at the door protecting against thieves, and looters. It’s a lot of distrust. Years ago 2004 I didn’t see this as much. People that aren’t prepared just waiting in lines with their hands out, complaining on TV that no one has brought them water or food. If this was a grid down event I truly believe it would have been anarchy after just three days. This experience has really shown me that people have no clue, and they (I would have to say almost everyone) is expecting the government to take care of them. I now know there’s no way I can live in southwest Florida and bug out unless I have a large boat. I75 turns into a parking lot in hours, not days, and the looters and freaks show up before the storm has even started! For example, 8 pm Sunday I returned home after the storm. I waded down my street in 2.5 ft of water to clear the road of debris before my brother neighbors and friends returned home as I had to run over many pieces of homes to get here, I laid everything that I’ve thought long to the homes in their yards. The next morning after the storm there were people in trucks going from yard to yard dragging their pieces of fascia and anything a little bit them away from their house that could’ve possibly been salvaged and loaded it into their trucks for scrapping. They attempted to come into my yard and grab pieces of my fascia and soffit they had blown away from my house and I on Holstered my 1911 in my right hand and looked at him and said I’ll be using that private property and then the guy started arguing with me I’m clear the The Bree make in the neighborhood safe I couldn’t believe this guy was looking at me straight face and telling me this I told him if you enter my property I will put a bullet in your head he never came back down my street again.

I now know there’s no way I can live in southwest Florida and bug out unless I have a large boat. I75 turns into a parking lot in hours, not days, and the looters and freaks show up before the storm has even started! For example, 8 pm Sunday I returned home after the storm. He never came back down my street again.

Clark continued after a few of us said we were going to spread his information around……

Good to hear. I’m really happy this is getting out. The news isn’t saying anything. Sanitation is a MAJOR problem we need to look at.  Next is disease, bugs, rats…. who knows? I imagine the worst of course… I don’t think we will have to worry about Marauders, and looters as much as we originally thought. I think it will be sanitation and disease, and I think it will wipe out most of the civilizations very very fast

Months not years you will see Society fail.

    line

    Thanks Clark for sharing.

While the vast majority of us will finish reading this and shake out heads wishing there was something we could do……Clark and his neighbors will still be dealing with the sewage, the heat, the lack of water and power. It will continue for days, weeks, and some for months. I hope FEMA can get in there and provide help quickly. I hope between insurance and both private and government assistance communities across Florida – and in Texas – can recover quickly.

From the Desk of John Rourke – September 14th, 2017

In a hard hitting investigative interview on CNN, Hillary Clinton demonstrated her “alternate nostril breathing” technique as one method she used to deal with her loss to President Trump.

I’ll tell you….this is some serious reporting going on. No questions about her releasing her new book on the Anniversary of Benghazi. Nope. No questions on how she felt receiving questions ahead of time for a Democrat debate ahead of time. Of course not. No questions about the hypocritical position she and other Liberals have taken on Trumps relationship with women when her husband is a well-known womanizer and accused rapist. Thanks would be just…crazy. Right?

    ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊

Is it just me or are we seeing the two party political system dwarf right in front of us?

One one side you have those who voted for REAL CHANGE and elected Trump. While not a perfect candidate nor man by any stretch of the imagination – he is a political outsider promising to drain the swamp.

On the other side, you have the SWAMP. A collective made up of career politicians both Democrat and Republican who profess to want to better education, the national debt, improve immigration, raise wages, and increase freedom – but do little to nothing to actually do any of that.

    My 2 cents.

  • From the Desk of John Rourke – September 13th, 2022

From the Desk of John Rourke – September 13th, 2022

(Note: This post is a work of fiction)

I know it’s been several weeks since my last post. Surprised I have been able to keep the website up. Via numerous proxy servers, mirrors, and redirects, most of the United States can still access the website. How long will this keep working I’m not sure.

The family and I have been relocated four weeks ago. Ever since President Warren(I still struggle typing that) instituted the “American Citizen & Law Enforcement Safety Bill” as well as the “United States Equalization of Opportunity Bill” protests have broken out leading to tremendous civil unrest. The South Carolina state government put up a lot of fuss with the Federal firearm restrictions but in the end, they caved to the pressure. Currently, my gun stash is completely illegal – at least by Federal standards. Unfortunately while moving all my guns to the retreat they fell overboard into the river. What a shame.

The economy is crashing around us as inflation takes hold. Supplies are running short, and prices are heading sky high. Wages – when someone can find a job – is not keeping up with the massive inflation. So many people have given up looking for work and so many businesses have closed up shop the dominoes are falling. Fuel especially is getting scarce and expensive. The last time I made a trip to town I saw armed guards outside a store guarding the gas pumps and store employees.

As for the Rourke family, we are doing fairly well. We had several retreat options where we had stashed a good amount of supplies so as for the next several months we should be fine. Several of us spend all day – every day – prepping the retreat. There are 24/7 perimeter patrols and everyone takes turns. Crime is certainly on the rise. IR cameras have been installed and are monitored via wi-fi. Monitoring communications – television is full of propaganda as well as the radio. We’ve been using SSB CB’s and hearing a lot of interesting information from around the country. I never got an HF ham radio hooked up.

A Fall garden is well underway and we planted a lot. Lot’s of jars and Tattler lids are available once we start canning.

We miss our friends. We have extremely little contact with anyone outside the retreat. This post was sent via a tablet that never accompanies me to the retreat and has nothing on it that can be traced to me. Several IP blockers and proxy servers will make it appear I am located in another country. Well – maybe I am.

I predicted the American Reformation. I wish I had been wrong. Civil War is upon us and the crooks in Washington are surging control over the country. The rhetoric that Conservative Patriots used to say, “It’s not the time for violence” has ended. Nothing else is left on the table. I wish I had moved to the Redoubt long ago. I didn’t so it is what it is.  There are reports over SSB that militia’s and Patriot groups have been conducting some guerilla warfare in areas across the country. The MSM is playing it down and spinning it as needless violence against women and children.

I wish I had moved to the Redoubt long ago. I didn’t so it is what it is.  There are reports over SSB that militia’s and Patriot groups have been conducting some guerilla warfare in areas across the country. The MSM is playing it down and spinning it as needless violence against women and children.

One example was a building in Atlanta being used to house the Office of Equalization. Over the weekend it was firebombed and burned to the ground. Similiar events are happening all over the US. Guerrilla warfare. The MSM media is reporting little of this and what they are reporting are lies. Not surprising.

Everyone has to make a decision for themselves. Are they part of getting this country back – or standing on the sidelines? I’m good with my decision. Everyone knows the side I’m on. I don’t hold it against anyone for standing on the sidelines. This is developing war and it’s going to get nasty. Not everyone can fight.

I’ll tell you one thing. There are a lot of roles to be played beyond being a fighter. Gathering intelligence is HUGE. Gathering & transporting supplies. Hiding Patriots and providing cover in Loyalist stronghold areas is critical to the movement.

I’m not sure if I will post again. I’ve had this site for years and enjoyed the relationship with all of you. It is just too dangerous to even attempt to upload posts.  In fact – you can be targeted just for viewing this website. 72 hours all versions of this site will start disappearing.

    Good luck.

I’ve been in discussion with an author who writes prepper fiction. They are wanting me to continue what I started with my book A Survival Story. I’ll write something up on this as a separate post and ask for story/plot ideas. We are talking a 3 book series altogether. Editing of Book One would be included with some updating.

I’m up for it. I tried writing Book Two in the series a few years ago however I had too many things going on at the time and had to stop. If I move forward I want a clear plot line and direction which to follow.

Watching the coverage in Florida of the destruction left by Hurricane Irma….wow! What a mess. Those of you affected take care and keep looking ahead. No – “Keep looking up!” – right, JBernDrApt?

Worked on further organization of supplies at home in my garage. Have a work bench I completely cleaned and setting up a comm center. I’ll throw up some pictures when I get some progress. Ham, CB, FRS/GMRS, AM/FM, etc. will be included.
