My turn…..

Conner versus Mayweather: I hope Conner stomps the living $&!# out of Mayweather. Seriously doubt it though.

Gab: So far liking Gab as a social media platform. Reportedly created due to the severe bias against Conservatives and Patriots on Facebook, Twitter, etc. Still learning Gab and it is also growing. My profile is here – – – > https://gab.ai/JTRourke

Hurricane Harvey is rated a Catagory 4. Be safe folks. Don’t risk staying in the path if the option is to evacuate.

Gas prices: Gas prices in this area jumped close to .10 already due to the hurricane. I wonder what percentage is profit taking. Good to go ahead and fill up but having back a few cans full is comforting. Hmmm…..

North Korea launches more missiles. This is becoming such regular news that it is barely making the news.

Good Movie: An extremely well-done movie I have watched several times – The Kingdom. Be warned it is R -rated and for some very good reasons.

Trump Pardon’s Sheriff Joe Arpaio: Excellent. The Liberal media will freak out while ignoring the scrum Obama pardoned.

Something for you…….

    Rourke,
Would you please explain the differences between Level I, III, etc. packs. I’ve done a web search, but can’t easily find the explanation of what distinguishes one level from another.
    Thanks!

    THE KINGDOM == seconded.

Gritty, dirty, sandy, hot. Balanced yet terrifying in its simplicity.

The Arab actor Asraf Berhom, while ‘not acting’, stole every scene from the American team. He deserves an Oscar nod.

Not concerned about Harvey. Everyone was warned, those who have experienced it before knew what to do. The others who wanted to have “Hurricane Parties” as they did with Camille, were instructed to write their social number on their forearms for later body identification. I think that should be explicit enough.

The uproar about the pardon of Sheriff Joe is a demonstration of the height of hypocrisy. Obama pardoned 1927 felons during his illegal stay in the White House. The majority of which were drug dealers who in my mind should be given a death sentence for what they do to their victims. And of course RINO McCain was right on the top of the list.

Started on the fall garden today. So dry I’m having to water the empty garden just to be able to plant. I have a large pile of compost liberally dosed with chicken manure (composted). As I plant the seedlings for collards, rutabaga and broccoli, I’ll use the post hole diggers to dig a hole about 6 inches deep and fill it with screened compost. Then plant the seedling in that. Grew some 10 lb cabbages last year with this method.

Sealed up the first of the EMP cans. Used a 10 gallon galvanized trash can lined with 3 layers of corrugated and then metalized tape to seal the lid to the can. Now working on the next one for 31 gallon trash can. Also will build a EMP “cage” for one of the generators.

Of the 6 eggs I put in the incubator, 3 hatched. I candled the remaining 3, they were “empty” in that they were not fertilized. Guess I have to have a talk with the rooster. The chicks are coming along really well. That adds to the flock. Hope they are hens and not roosters.

      1. Oren says:

Thanks Uncle George. I placed an order for the tape just now.

I had a talk with the rooster and told him he better pick up the pace or he would end up Bojangles Chicken.

Fall garden. I’m planting turnips, rutabaga, collards, broccoli and lettuce. Just got thru sifting the rocks and stuff out of the compost pile. I’ll plant my seedlings in 6″ holes about 6″ deep filled with sifted compost. In addition to kitchen scraps, I put all the wasted from the chicken house in the compost pile. I age the compost at least a year before use. I have a three bin system where I flip the piles and keep the aged compost separate from the green one.

While I like my gas prices cheap, I had a station owner tell me the price is base on them making their next purchase not what they currently have on site.

Oren-I hope you get female chicks also !!! Great idea re : your cabbage plants-exc. on your cabbages !!!
Since we have our chickens free ranging- ( and then in the coop at night for protection)
we havent had one tick one us or the pets. Lightning

    1. Oren says:

I intend to start a flock of guineas next spring. They will free range. Great alarm system and they keep down everything from ticks, spiders as well as snakes. Plus, they are really entertaining.
