Thanks for sharing. I just had the privilege last week to go to the the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library with the family and also thought that many of the issues we face today, were ones that President Reagan navigated and won.

Nothing new under the sun I suppose .. including civil forfeiture… interesting.
They are very good words and well spoken..
It is depressing however that we have done little and lost even more since that day.
Timing is interesting .. this was just before Barry Goldwater (R) lost to Lyndon Johnson (D) that November.. “the time of choosing” was in support of Goldwater. LBJ won based on a commitment to continue Kennedy’s legacy and programs.. which he did not do faithfully .. if at all .. I might call him a profiteer in the Vietnam War..
Take a read if yo have a minute. I was trying to fix in my mind the location of the speech and what else was happening .. so I went to look…

I believe this speech is what catapulted his political career. Gives me chills each time I hear it. Another great Reagan speech is at the 76 Republican convention when he lost to Ford. After the speech it was apparent to all they picked the wrong man. He was a hero when our country needed one
