Prayer Request

Health Issues: I haven’t said anything but it appears I may have a significant health issue at hand. This Wednesday I’m having an MRI a couple hours south of me. No health insurance but doing the best I can. A few months ago I began to have severe abdominal pain after doing plumbing work in the cabin. It went away fairly quickly, however, I feel fairly full after eating or drinking very little. I self-diagnosed and then went to see a doctor who confirmed that I had an enlarged spleen. A CT scan confirmed and now an MRI will provide more information as to whether or not surgery is needed. It appears that while doing the plumbing work I injured the spleen leaning over counters and wood-edges.

At this point all I can say is this sucks.

I have no health insurance as my current job told me they would provide it but it never happened. I’ve been doing better over the past several weeks and well – we’ll see what the MRI says.

I believe in God. I believe in the power of prayer. I also believe that whatever is going to happen will happen.

I’d appreciate any prayers that you may be willing to bring forth.

At 54 and having lived a life where fitness was a big goal it’s extremely frustrating to find myself in this situation. Beyond frustrating, really.

You know what I worry about the most? Who will look after those I love when I’m gone? That’s all I care about.

I wish Arlene and JBernDrApt were still around to lend their advice.

Thanks.

Definitely sending prayers. It’s not much help, but my dad had his spleen taken out back around 1967, when medical care wasn’t what it is now, and he was still strong and physically active until pneumonia took him out at 79. You can do this.
If you’ve never had an MRI before, picture yourself in a metal drainpipe with people randomly beating on it with sticks and iron bats. Do not move, close your eyes, and pretend that you’re somewhere that makes you happy. If you’re lucky, they’ll give you a headset so that you can listen to music over all the banging and clanging.
Have MPG keep us posted if you’re otherwise occupied.

Jehovah Rapha, Lord Jesus, our Great Physician and healer of all diseases, this humble sinner petitions You to heal John; to guide his physicians in the proper way to treat his disease as only You can. I firmly believe that nothing is impossible in Your hands of power, and healing. I believe that all things are possible through You and by Jesus’ stripes we are healed.

Continue to fill John and his family and friends. Fill them with Your ultimate peace, joy and strength.

I believe that You will heal John according to Your will and in Your time. For You are Jehovah Rapha, the God who heals. Let Your empowerment in healing John be Your glory and praise.

Father God, Abba, I thank You for all You have done, all You will do and for Your love, grace, joy and peace. I thank You for Your comforting, reassurance and acceptance that I am Your child even when I fail or let my emotions get away from me. I thank You for this current trial because I know You use the trials of life to strengthen my faith and bring me closer to You. Use this season for our good and Your glory.

I pray to you Father, Creator of everything, by the authoritative grace of Your Son, Jesus Christ and by the power of Your Holy Spirit. Amen

Well, dang. Do talk to doctors and the hospital about getting a deal on the surgery. They usually have some flexibility. Look for low-income uninsured programs, too. Obamacare was supposed to take care of exactly that, but I would guess it is only doing a mediocre job. Worth checking out, though.

    You’ll be in my prayers.

Medicare kicks in at 65, and has been helpful.

Plan to live well into your 90s, but also have your loved ones covered in case a tree falls on you tomorrow. Leave a paper list of all your passwords so hour spouse can alert your friends if there is a problem.

I will keep you and MPG in my thoughts and prayers. Bring earplugs for the MRI because it will sound like giant ball bearings bouncing around in a huge tin can. Keep a stiff upper lip as my father would say, and good luck.

Proud and positive spirit I know you have so bear down on them. Would be happy to pitch in if needed. Tackle it like you have done all your life!! You will prevail!!😊

I’ll be praying, John, and also researching natural things you can do to improve your healing. God will heal you of this injury, in Jesus’ name. Lean into him. As a nurse I watched many people surrender to their shmptoms and fear and not get better. But I also saw people get terrible diagnoses who found their faith stronger than the Dr’s speech. They amazed the staff by fully recovering from “terminal conditions”. God does indeed answer prayer. We will unite in praying for you. May I share your information with my church prayer team? God bless you!

Sorry to hear about your spleen injury and will pray for a favorable diagnosis. Sometimes life throws us a curve ball but you will overcome this problem and be your better self again. I will keep you in my prayers.

Of course you will be uplifted in prayers. When a health issue appears in your life you should see it as a gift. It’s a wakeup call signaling for you to change your ways. That survival crap they sell to store for 25 years will destroy your health quickly. Your body is designed to be healthy and self repairing. The way back to health is through detoxing and clean nutrition. I have faith that you will be fine if you address these changes. You’re a very intelligent young man. You got this.
