Coronavirus: Things Are Getting Worse

As of Monday, March 30th the numbers surrounding the COVID-19 virus look like this: 163,932 total cases in the United States with 3,138 deaths. The numbers are skyrocketing with many areas just now beginning to see cases in numbers at their local hospitals. COVID-19 continues to be a serious health risk for millions of American’s all over the country – and possibly worse – causing severe, possibly unrepairable damage to the economy.

The Governor of Virginia just put the entire state on quarantine(shelter in place) until June 10th. Yes – that’s right. June 10th. People are not allowed to go out unless for food, medical attention, other needed supplies, or for “fresh air”. Other regions – large and small – are likely to follow suit. The mayor of Washington, DC is threatening 90 days in jail for those not staying at home. This is unprecedented – and likely unconstitutional. The main reason for such drastic action is related to citizens NOT sheltering in place and following the CDC guidelines regarding social distancing. With peak cases projected to arrive within the next 2-3 weeks in most areas, it is critical that people limit their activity to reduce the chance of spreading the disease.

Dr. Anthony Fauci estimates that – even with all of the correct measures being put into place – the best case is 100,000 to 200,000 deaths as a result of the COVID-19 virus.

We all have to make decisions that are best for ourselves. Our situations are all different regarding financial, geographic, population density – and preparedness levels. Some must go to work to sustain their lives and provide. Some have no choice but to NOT go to work – such as myself – and we look to gain employment in a very unfriendly economic environment.

The financial ramifications to the nation are immeasurable at this time. What the effect will be adding trillions of dollars to the national debt cannot be predicted accurately regarding severity nor timeframe.  So many questions with so few answers.

What I know is there will be many people entering into the world of survival and preparedness as a result of this pandemic. This is positive. What I also know is we all have very good reason to continue to prepare with the potential for disastrous economic troubles ahead as well as the real threat that a similar pandemic of an even more severe nature could await us right around the corner.

What to do? For me, I may call the plan I’m working on an “American Exit Strategy“. In short, it’s a plan to insulate myself from situations such as this one and many more that threaten our way of life. I’ll share more in the near future.

Take care all.

Interesting. The Mayor of the Armpit of our nation (DC) is threatening 90 days in jail while the Governors of the leftist shite-hole sates of CommieFornia, NY, and NJ are releasing murderers and rapists to protect them from getting the virus while in Prison> As good old SnagglePuss used to say: “Heavens to Murgatroid! The Whole World’s a Quagmire!”

I already “distance” myself from everyone by choice, not edict. I live on 18 acres outside of town. I like begin away from everyone. As far as me “sheltering in place”, ain’t gonna happen. I have a large garden to tend and a fairly large flock of chickens and guinea’s. I will continue my work with both. I also have my 78 year old sister and 101 year old mom living here on the property also. Both have had strokes and are not able to take care of themselves. Needless to say, I have to tend to them also. That includes tending to their needs in their home as well as getting out for medications and necessities (who’d of thought they would be prepper’s which they are not}. So, I’ll be going out for their needs also. UNLESS, someone from the Nanny state is going to be assigned to come in and do all that for me. Not likely. My wife has asthma and I have galloping diabetes (thank you exposure to Agent Orange in Vietnam). So if we go out, we will both be wearing masks and gloves. It is a requirement since we have a major university close by and everyone knows the little darlings feel they are invulnerable. See the story on the return from Spring Break with the virus for the kids at Wisconsin – Madison.
So, the only thing I could tell one of the deputies if he showed up in my yard while I’m tending the garden is this…”I’d shake your hand but I’ve been shoveling Chicken Shit and you may have a virus I don’t want.”
    Have a good day.

The most draconian responses are coming out of democrat strong holds, who would have thought!!!
We should be thankful everyday for President Trump, who has resisted big federal government in favor of partnership with private business to fight this virus.
President Hillary would have already suspended the Constitution.

Oren made my day . I totally understand, I am in between two University , half like yours have the superman identity issues and the other half flew in from overseas . Seeing the numbers unfold in America is terrifying. You are all in my prayers. We too are wearing masks and gloves , except my Little one . I’m just going out when I have too for some food items and help my parents as mum has copd and both are over 70 and in lock down. My younger children are my main concern due to their special needs and having to touch everything. All respite ceased months ago just as we got off the waitlist so the kids have to come to town with me. People were unkind before are now down right absusive. And just on a side note my state as of Monday banned all ammo and guns sales and permits. As due to the unrest there had been a rush on guns that the government hadn’t seen coming .
    Please all stay safe everyone.

Again, this is simply a nasty, contagious flu bug which is being used to attack and destroy our Capitalist system. For our own protection we can take precautions and keep the nebulizer and some colloidal silver on hand which I truly believe is extremely effective against this virus just as it has been on the previous ones. I refuse to buy the disinformation designed to enslave me to fear and belief that only big pharma can save us. We are survivors. Let’s use our common sense and act like it.

Hey JR, I’m not actually sure anymore, as my ex was anti guns . So I hadn’t been in years but my belief is if you have a healthy respect for them and get correctly trained and store them safely they can be an asset. I grew up around guns and my dad had lots of hunting rifles some were his father’s and grandfather’s all were surrendered in the gun amnesty when my mum went nuts when dad starting teaching me to shoot. Anyways after they lift the restrictions ,I’m not letting nothing stop me.
