I think, deep inside, people are scared and confused. Most have no one in their lives who will consistently tell them the truth. The truth is relative. They can’t trust the media to give them the information, only spin. They can’t trust the government to look out for the best interests of the country, only themselves. Their religious leaders are more afraid of offending people than God. Their children are being turned into spy’s and are unable to be disciplined. They are told opinions and feelings are more important than the facts. The opinions of minorities are more important than theirs, the people who pay for everything through their taxes and purchases. Ultimately they are told they are responsible for the world’s ills, of which they had no hand in creating, and will be punished for it. They are told they are irrelevant and that there is nothing they can do about it. And they are about to break!
anger over the gov’t who have failed to live up to their oaths of service
over the state of our public school system, that indoncnrates our kids to hate our nation & their neighbors
our “religious” leaders who have a love of money & power than the Word of the ALMIGHTY
of the parents who would rather be a friend to their kids than teach them right from wrong & have values
of a permissive society that allows anything goes, because it feels good, and to say it is wrong hurts other’s feelings.
And then people wonder why I live a semi-reclusive lifestyle..
Because I am not allowed to do what is right & start to correct what I see wrong.
We all see it & we ALL FAIL to correct anything..so we too are to blame for this mess
“It amazes me how negative people are in these modern times.”. It’s the result of frustration. Everyone looks around and sees too many of the the social rules of conduct we were raised under, being shattered and discarded. We see our history being smashed and rewritten. Our economy which Trump had grown after Obama crushed it, is now being destroyed by the impact of policies put in place by the minions of the Democrats. We feel we are being lied to about the Wuhan virus. Our government seems to be run by inmates of an insane asylum with a large dose of criminals. We see government officials who are charged with numerous crimes from fraud thru sexual assault and pedophilia, yet nothing is done. As Hillary once stated in a slip of the tongue, “the laws are for the little people”. We thought she was joking. She was not.
So you see, we are ALL frustrated to some degree. Some more than others. Most of us complain to each other. A few will act out their frustration violently. Road rage is a manifestation of this frustration as is the current explosion of crime. Fortunately, we have not seen the pot boil over into explosive civil discord yet. But, I don’t think it is too far off. For instance, what do you think would happen if all of the audits on the 2020 election caused a nullification of the presidential election?
After covid and natural disasters people should be grateful for every day
and for the daily blessings all about us.( enough to eat, decent health and healthcare-jobs- this website) Sure I am angry and disgusted with the stolen election etc. but things will change again-they always do if we persevere.
Our garden is coming in strong right now.
Maybe they did not understand how precious freedom of speech is until the Olympic player had to fear for her life after expressing some criticism of her gov.
Rourke- great video about your new truck- I had no idea there was an EMP shield for a vehicle. I will watch it later. Arlene
Hi there I’m a writer working on a project examining the psychology of both today regarding survival and the psychology and behavior of those in an apocalyptic setting. Examining mental illness, psychosis in the bunker, things of that nature. How many people would crack under the pressure of an extreme event with high mortality, under what circumstances, and what would that mean for a group dynamic? Those are some of the themes I am examining.
To answer some of the questions you may be asking? I can help with that no problem. People such as me who have accumulated learning and experiences can some times be accused of being cynics. It’s not cynicism. It’s just we can see better than others because we’ve been around the block a few times. Some people can go mad if they learn too much about people. it’s why so many psychologists, psychiatrists, and police lose their minds and crack. They can only take so much of that exposure to humanity. Because humanity is obnoxious. People individually are obnoxious.
The country has always had problems. I grew up in grinding poverty. My parents were in grinding poverty in the Great Depression. I learned a lot from them and my Grandparents. Learned that bacon grease was valuable and you could raise your own food. And we did. I grew up taking care of cattle and chickens. Man, did we have problems. My father couldn’t stay healthy. He was orphaned in Appalachia in 1935 at age 2 1/2. We were as tough as nails.
What we have now is the spread of information on the internet. People always were violent and stupid. We can see it on our internet and smart phones now. It is visible. Government and politicians always were stupid and incompetent. Look at the decisions they’ve made for 125 years. They dumped the grain reserve!!! It’s just that more people can be educated about just how stupid they are. It’s the information age and the information is ugly. People can smell the crap now. They know more of the big lies now. That’s what’s going on.
Dennis -I am interested in your writing and research. I have always been very fascinated how one person in a family can be crushed by difficulty while another thrives…interesting issues and various factors involved.
When did the Gov. do away with our grain reserve ? Where did you get that inf? Thanks. Arlene
In my experience, the vast majority of folks long for stability.
And I do, too.
.
For most of my seven decades, I was complacent, hiding in something we now call ‘normalcy bias’.
I was certain, if I wished hard enough, everything around me would stay as it always was, releasing me from the responsibility to grow, to evolve.
.
I hid in the delusion of safety.
.
In a few weeks, I will be 70.
At this point in a semi-functional physical body, all I can do is attempt my best shot at mentoring, offering a bread-crumbs trail to anybody wanting to shake the chains of ‘the delusion of safety’.
.
Based on my experience, I think I came in with an empty head.
As I learned and evolved, some of those lessons seemed to possess value (at the time…), so I added them to my emptiness.
A few more lessons, and some of my emptiness went away.
.
At almost 70 with some quiet time on my hands for contemplation, I am looking at decisions I made in my teens and early-20s… and realizing I had more choices available than I thought.
For example, I deeply regret allowing certain people to slip away without me working harder to maintain our relationships.
.
And yet, at the time, I was sure I had better things to do.
Looking back, I am pretty sure maintaining friendships carries more value than accumulating prestige and possessions.
.
Can I continue learning to adapt?
Will I fall back into the rut of ‘safe and comfortable’?
.
And if I cannot adapt, do I deserve to continue taking space in my community of humans?
.
As I look at the results of over a century of failed BOLCHEVICS political aims, I am pretty sure a lot of folks — particularly those distanced from nature, fragile and vulnerable in cities — sense a spiritual longing for simplicity.
In my experience, cities are artificial, sardine-cans, a coiled spring too-long compressed… and past-due to explode.
City-folk feel this, and yet, their complacency (aka ‘normalcy bias’) forbids the changes necessary to adapt to this very rapidly shifting time.
.
If I was me, I think this’s a good time to avoid crowds.
.
Thank you for listening to my ramblings!
Marge-thanks for sharing. I am a 71 year old woman and I agree that as we age we sometimes reflect on our past choices. The good thing is that you learned and have advanced-so many folks never get there.
All we can do is prepare and try to teach others as you mentioned and pray and hope and live each day to the fullest with its blessings and challenges.
My grand daughter age 14 asked me yesterday if I thought that Covid would always be with us. Tough question.I told her that we are living that question and I do not have an answer but years ago smallpox and polio and flu killed millions and polio and small pox are extremely rare now .All we can do is hope and stay as safe as possible and pray and keep preparing for any emergency.

We are experiencing a brown out in our upstate county- I imagine they are shipping more electrical energy to the big cities .Not fair but this happens every time there is a three day severe heat period.
Stability: Yep, and after my current move, that’s what I’m hoping for. Then comes this week. DW is finally (9 weeks later) out of the walker for her broken leg and can get herself to work and therapy. Sunday night, a men’s residency group I work with got 6 new residents (doubling what they had) and 2 quit the program. Monday inspection of the new house showed they did NOT clean it well and they bent my gate latch. Tuesday we found bugs. Wednesday, the carpet cleaner had the heavy, wither storm door come off because the trim was held on with 6 2″-6 penny finishing nails and they pulled out (no major damage or breakage through). Wednesday the DW’s car dash lights up like Christmas and my mechanic is out of the state until Monday. I will be at a trade fair this weekend, so I can hardly wait to see what Thursday brings.

John and all who made comments, you are all correct and I fear a reckoning is coming may do irreparable harm to the country.
