Modern Pistols and the Sig P320

The US Army adopted the Sig P320 as its new sidearm. Obviously, it will take quite some time to phase out the Beretta’s. Sales for the P320 have skyrocketed.

This means the Sig P320 must be the best combat pistol in existence – right?

No, it doesn’t. While avid 1911 folks and Glock-heads freak at even the mention of another firearm being superior to their own the reality is pistols today are incredible feats of modern engineering. Is one superior over another? No. It is a matter of perspective in MOST cases.

Little separates their accuracy and reliability. What makes them unique is mostly brand, cosmetics, ergonomics – and then model specific characteristics such as finish, capacity, safety type, action, etc.

Now certainly a Sig P320 is far superior to Hi-Point in almost every way – except price. There are several other examples. When you move on to similar guns such as the P320, Glock 17/19, M&P9, Canik TP9-series, XD9-series, FN’s – and yes – even the Beretta M92 – there is little difference beyond personal preference.

Those that wish to get swept up in “mine is better than yours” fail to see the great thing that lies right in front of them:

You can have whatever you want.

What a great thing the 2nd Amendment is(except in California, New York, and a few other places).
