    My turn…..

Gen 5 Glock – while I have poked fun at Glock’s lack of innovation with their latest offering, upon further review looks like they have made some good improvements. I had a Gen 1 Glock years ago and loved it. It felt like an extension of my arm. Back then I shot at least every week.

Gas Shortage? I am not hearing any mention of an impending gas shortage, however, I am getting information from secondary sources. Several gas stations in my area were out today. Prices have certainly gone up and are expected to rise more.

New Radio – Picked up a QYT KT8900 Dual Band Ham Radio. This will serve as the radio for a “Commo Can” I am building. Basically a somewhat self-contained 2-meter ham radio with charge controller, antenna, and batteries. All will be in an ammo can. An external port will provide different charging methods including solar.  I’ve got the radio, charge controller, ammo can, and solar panel.

Hurricane Irma – Currently a Cat 3. The 5-day tracking projects a path pointing to the southeast United States. Still pretty far away.

    Something for you…….

    Hurricane Matthews Threatens East Coast

Hurricane season is upon us and the east coast of the United States is under watch for Hurricane Matthews. Currently it’s getting ready to hammer Haiti as a Category 4 and then travel a northern path.

Still too far out from the coast to predict a reliable path folks need to be prepared as it is estimated Matthews will be a Category 2 by the time it reaches the area of the Carolina coast. This is plenty strong enough to cause severe damage and destruction with winds upwards of 105 mph.

Let’s hope it just turns and heads out to sea.
