From the Front Lines

This is the first installment of “From the Front Lines”. Basically it is a collection of random thoughts related to preparedness, current events, and whatever else that’s on my mind.

Website Update – Still getting the feel of this new site. I eventually create a “featured” area for special content as well as a “project” area for projects that are in the works. So far everything seems to be working out ok.

Ruger 10/22 Project – Can’t remember if I mentioned this or not but I have started putting together a project gun based on the Ruger 10/22. I have owned several 10/22’s and they are fantastic. Plain with no modification they are found across the country on farms, homesteads, apartments, and homes. Inexpensive, reliable and accurate they are an all around great survival gun. With the aftermarket support the Ruger can be whatever you ant it to be.

Shortly you’ll see what I want it to be.

Silver – I have never been a huge proponent to precious metals though I do understand the attraction and potential uses. Right now silver is hovering around $14/ounce. This is way off its high and might be a good time to make a purchase. A lot of online sources but looking at

Stock Market – It continues its downward trend increasing the uneasy feeling across Wall Street. The Dow has plunged 1658 points so far in 2016.

Grizzly Adams” – One of my all time favorite TV shows I grew up watching was Grizzly Adams. I just heard that the star of the show – Dan Haggerty  – has died.

Snow – Received a dusting of sleet and snow here in South Carolina on Thursday. No big deal but a larger storm is being forecasted. Compared to the likes of Buffalo and other areas where snow is measured in FEET and not inches we are in store for virtually nothing. Regardless – this place will come to a crawl if any accumulation happens.

Snow Again – Speaking of snow one thing I enjoy about snow is driving in it. Love to try out my new tires on my Jeep in the white stuff.

I am a bit late to the show in putting together my 2016 Goals & Objectives (ok….you can call it New Year’s Resolutions). Working on this this week and will finish this weekend. Almost 1/12th through this year so I need to get a move on. Will share the list next week.

Hope everyone is having a great week.
