It's TEOTWAWKI at Tullymore.
The grid went down over a week ago. More chaos erupts when the lights don't come back on and there's still no word--or help--from the government.
The neighborhood is divided, and on the brink of an internal war. Tensions between Tucker and Curt only rise further when one innocent life is on the line, and they must make a deadly trip into town to scavenge for a crucial supply that someone may have had all along.
Do you bring enough to the table to join a stronger group?
At Grayson's farm, Jenny is a shocking surprise to everyone, and Puck is feeling as though he must stand up and be a man, to prove his mettle to the group in order to stay. But the farm may not be the safest place to be, after all.
A map to the farm is lost--and found--by the worst possible people. Now, they have more to fear than just dehydration and starvation.
Gird your loins...
Elmer mounts his tractor and attempts to return home to his dear wife, Edith. But when pop goes the weasel, he's not the only one surprised by what lies ahead on the road.
Bullets and blood are the new currency, and death is imminent unless they can all learn to Shoot Like a Girl in book two of The SHTF Series, a post-apocalyptic thriller packed with Action & Adventure.

From the Author
As warned by scientists, the Department of defense--and even the 2017 United States presidential candidates--Ted Koppel and countless others, the world as we know it is going dark. It's not a matter of if, but when. It could be terrorists and/or foreign enemies inflicting a cyber-attack by hacking into our systems, or an EMP/nuclear weapon, or even a natural, but unexpected, solar flare.
The lights are going out.
It is a'coming, one way or the other.
When it does, the real fear will be that of the predatory darkness found within our fellow human beings. There will be no power. No water. No fuel. No readily available food source. Limited medical services. Possibly no transportation. Communications will go down. Systems will catastrophically fail.
Society will collapse.
Until America recovers, police officers, military personnel, fire fighters, and other emergency service personnel will have to make a choice between doing their appointed duties--of which they may not be paid--or protecting their own families. Which would you choose?
We all know the answer to that. And without proper ongoing services, there will be predators. These animals--humans, in fact--will prey on the weak, the unprotected, and the unprepared. Previous friends, neighbors, and business acquaintances too will turn on you when they're desperate. The bad people will come. They will come in force, and they will dominate the masses. This apocalyptic event won't discriminate. It doesn't matter whether you're rich or poor; black or white; male or female. You and yours will be affected.
I hope you're prepared.

About the author

Akers is an international best-selling author writing in multiple genres. Akers' speculative fiction/post apocalyptic work has earned two Top 5 nominations for an Independent Audie Award in 2019-Apocalyptica, and 2020-General Fiction, and moved on as a Top 5 Finalist for Audible of the Year, in 2020.
Akers is most known for the bestselling speculative fiction/post apocalyptic series, The SHTF Series, and has been featured in the nationally distributed magazine, Prepper Survival Guide. Akers is the founder of a popular online reader/prepper group, DD12 Dirty Dozen Post Apoc Army of Readers, where twelve authors foster an online family of real readers/listeners who get to meet, know, and hang out with real writers of the apocalypse.
Preparedness is not just fiction for Akers. It's a lifestyle that brings peace of mind to be ready for whatever catastrophes life throws in the way.
Originally from Nebraska, Akers now lives bankside in sunny Georgia, U.S.A., near the Georgia Guidestones, which foretell apocalyptic times--seemingly apropos to the genre.

During my reading of the first book a sensed a tiny bit of political "stuff" but really not enough to turn me off.
I'm a Democrat that dislikes big government and a liberal that proudly owns several firearms.
So don't pay much attention to those folks that are writing reviews that insinuate that these books are written to support our EX President cause it just ain't so.
I like her characters (well some of them) and I really like the way she writes.

o
I have recommended to a few friends
I enjoyed this book as well as the previous one ( Fight Like a Man: A Post-Apocalyptic Thriller (The SHTF Series Book 1) ).
These are not your typical SHTF books, in that the characters are not ultra-rich allowing them to have 10 times more stuff than they will ever need and are not super special forces ninjas that can kill everyone, and never make mistakes.
Instead, you have characters that are common everyday people that have prepared (or thought they were prepard) for a catastrophie.
The make mistakes, do things that they should know better to do, and generally, in my opinion, present situations that are more likely to be the norm if a catastrophie actually occurs.
A few of the things I really like about the way this author writes are:
1. The characters are more real and believable in their behavior, thoughts, and preparedness than in many other books in this genre
2. Their is no constant preaching to the reader about religion or politics like many other books in this genre
3. The author does not try to prove how much they know by detailing every item the character uses or sees to the point that it detracts from the story.
4. Their is some good information for the user in regards to SHTF uses of everyday products, but not to the point that that it gets in the way of the story.
5. Their are enough details about people/places/things to make the scene/story work, but not so much that it interferes with the story.
Because of the things listed above, these books are a fun, enjoyable and easy read.
I am looking forward to the third book in the series, if for no other reason to see if the characters grow in the way they think and the decisions they make.
Top reviews from other countries
My biggest problem is his continuing spoilers. I probably should have known better after reading the prologue of the first book. Will I buy the third novel? Not a chance.
Buyer beware!
