This week I will have limited access to the Internet so responding to comments as well as any issues with the website will be difficult and slow.
This past week I was able to pick up and work on a few things:
Picked up some seeds from the local Farmer’s Exchange. I am getting ready to plant my garden and also put together a few seed banks.
Group Ham Repeater. I have put in a lot of hours trying to put together a small Ham repeater. By the way – I know “Ham” doesn’t need to be capitalized. Anyways – hours and hours have been spent trying different ways to extend 2 meter communications so that if the local repeater is compromised for any reason group communications would be possible. It has been about 9 months since working on it and just started back on Saturday. Still no success. I am using a Argent Simplex Repeater hooked to a Baofeng UV-5R Handheld.
So far success continues to evade me. Technical issues are providing intermittent levels of success where 100% reliability is required.
Crossbow. Picked up a target for my Barnett crossbow which I have not shot since buying it several weeks ago. It is a compound model like my bow and plan to add a recurve for the simplicity.
Bought a box of Federal 45ACP 230-grain FMJ ammo with aluminum cases for my Springfield XD45 Tactical. I have shot these before and love ’em.
Chinese PVS-14 Clone. I ordered a Chinese-copy of a PVS-14 night vision monocular. I know this thing is NOTHING like a really PVS but really curious if it is useful at all. I have an old toy night vision device and it actually works pretty decent.
So – what have you done this past week?
